Kathleen Duey

Popular and prolific American children's novelist. She has written over 50 books in a wide range of genres, including historical, fantasy and of course, pony! As a child she loved riding and Black Beauty was her favourite book. She also loved writing from a young age, although did not start seriously until her mid thirties. Of her horse related titles, there is a series of historical pony stories, a short series based on the film and characters from the film Spirit Stallion of the Cimmaron, and also a fantasy unicorn series.

Kathleen is a believer in living life in a more simplistic way. She lived without electricity for many years, growing and preparing her own food, an experience which she says has given her inspiration for her novels, especially those set in the past.

She has her own website (unfortunately not very user-friendly in my opinion) as well as being on Facebook, Twitter and Myspace.
